Obituary of Robert Francis Burns

Robert "Bob" F. Burns, 66, of Syracuse, passed away on Wednesday July 13 at Upstate Hospital after heart surgery. He was born on July 4,1948, son of the late Francis and Blanche Burns and the brother of the late Thomas Burns. He was a US Army Veteran and retired. Bob was a respected member of Alcoholics Anonymous for over 22 years and was a published poet. Surviving are his sister, Mary "Mikki" Evans, sister's-in-law Joy Sampsell, Tipawan Sermkun and several cousins including his Aunt Mina. Services: 9:30 a.m. Friday July 25, at St. Brigid-St. Joseph Church, 318 Herkimer St., Syracuse. Calling hours will be 5 to 7p.m. Thursday July 24, with military honors, at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W. Genesee St, Syracuse.
