Obituary of Robert T. McCarthy

Robert T. McCarthy, 81, of Syracuse passed away Monday, at home. He worked as an insulator for Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers Local 30 for 34 years. In retirement, he swam regularly at the Y, was a toy train collector, and played golf. He was born to the late Mary Helen and the late John Joseph McCarthy. He was predeceased by his son Robert Thomas Jr. Survivors: his wife of 61 years, Mary Ann; children, Kathleen McCarthy (Manuel Verdugo) of Pasadena, CA, Kevin (Nancy) of Baldwinsville, Deborah (William) Moran of Elbridge, and John Joseph of Syracuse. Six grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Services: 9:30 am Friday at Tindall Funeral Home and 10:00 am at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 501 S. Orchard Rd., Syracuse where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home 1921 W Genesee St.
