Obituary of Bernice "Bunny" A. Cottrell

Bernice "Bunny" Cottrell, 93, of Solvay passed away Friday, at home. Born in Chittenango, she worked as a Dental Hygienist in Rome, NY before working at Pass & Seymour and Hazard Street Middle School. Bunny was a communicant of St. Cecilia Church, was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and was a Eucharistic Minister at the Van Duyn Chapel. She was a member for over 50 years of the Solvay Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. Bunny was predeceased by her husband Bernard in 1996. Survivors: daughters, Susan Cottrell of Camillus, Mary (James) McCrohan of Camillus, Geraldine Cottrell of Solvay; sons, John (Kathy) Cottrell of Rochester, and Daniel Cottrell of South Miami, FL; sister, Mary (Ed) Diringer of Kirkville; 6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Services: 11:30am Tuesday at Tindall Funeral Home and noon at St. Cecilia Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal will follow in St. Mary's Mausoleum, DeWitt. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse.
