Irene Diamond Czerwinski, 87, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2015 at Menorah Park Nursing Home after an extended illness. A life resident of Syracuse, she graduated from Blodgett Vocational High School in 1946. She worked at the New York State Insurance Fund and in the registrar's office at Onondaga Community College. She was active for many years, along with her husband Eugene, in the Lace Dance Club of Liverpool as well as the Cotillion and Lamplighters Dance Clubs. Irene was a caregiver to her husband for two decades and an active member of the Parkinson Support Group. She spent winters in St. Pete Beach, Florida where she and her husband enjoyed the company of friends and family from Syracuse. She was predeceased by her husband, Eugene in 2003. Survivors: two daughters, Lynn (Jim) Medaj of Liverpool and Betsy (John Hayduke) Czerwinski of Syracuse; grandson, Jimmy Medaj of Liverpool; a brother, Jack (Jean) Diamond of Syracuse; a sister, Betty Leogue of Mission Viejo, CA; several cousins, nieces and nephews. Services: 12:30 p.m. Thursday at Tindall Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Onondaga County Veterans Cemetery. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Tindall Funeral Home, 1921 W Genesee St, Syracuse, NY. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association Of CNY, 441 W. Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204.
