Patricia "Pat" Hanley was born in Syracuse, NY, January 29, 1950 to William and Louise (Frasch) Hanley. She graduated from Bowling Green State University with a BS in Special Education/Elementary Education. She went on to receive a Masters in Special Education from Bowling Green, a reading Specialist Certificate from Northern Arizona University, and a School Administrator Certificate from SUNY Cortland. She started her education career working with the Navajo Indians in Flagstaff, AZ. She returned to central New York and became Program Director of Special Projects at SUNY Plattsburgh. In 1994, she received the Cavallo Prize for Moral Courage in Business and Government and was in Who's Who of American Women in 1997. She was predeceased by her father, William Hanley. Survivors: her mother, Louise Hanley; sister, Barbara (Thomas) Lynch; niece and nephew, Meegan and Bryan Lynch; great nephew, James Lynch. The family would like to thank the 4th floor staff and all the other people at Loretto who showed such compassion and kindness to Pat while she was living there. Services: Private services and burial at St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt will be at the convenience of the family.
